Hello again! As they say, the cobbler's children have no shoes. This blog has been neglected due to the amount of work Type A Creative has been enjoying in recent months. Here's an recent update:
Surviving Passion by Maia Underwood is currently #1 in Kindle Romance as ranked by customer reviews!!
This is an astonishing feat by Maia, a first-time, independent author with no publisher or agent. Her debut Kindle e-novel is winning five-star, rave reviews for its intelligent writing, creative environment, a well-developed heroine and supporting characters, and a plot that readers can't seem to put down until they've read the very last page. Congrats, Maia! (And yes, we are working on the sequel!)
The North Pole Times. Over the winter I thoroughly enjoyed writing posts from a special job at the North Pole.
Donning elf ears and curly-toed boots, I was able to report on some of the Christmas excitement happening each week in elf school.
Brain Fit! Save Your Brain with Smarter Thinking. Currently in pre-production is a non-fiction book by Australian doctor, speaker and expert on brain health, Jenny Brockis. Editing with Jenny was a pleasure; and also a real learning experience to discover the ways our brains work and how memory diseases like dementia and Alzheimer's can be affected by lifestyle choices that include social, mental, and physical stimulation. The growing aging population around the world means we have to brace ourselves for the onslaught of health concerns coming our way -- and staying brain fit is essential. More on this exciting new book when a release date is set.
Unnamed children's book. Currently in development, so I can't reveal details except that it's a children's story written by yours truly, sold to independent publishers Hartlyn Kids. Their mission to travel the globe, one book at a time means bringing stories about children from around the world to share with children everywhere. Slated for production next year.
Wedding Essentials magazine. I've taken over as managing editor and am thrilled to be offering Toronto brides the scoop on bridal trends, expert advice from celebrity event planners and make-up artists, and feature stories on getting fit for your wedding, the Royal Wedding, and an in-depth interview with a Canadian actress about to walk down the aisle. All that and more when the issue hits the stands in early June. Stay tuned.
